    Big brown, small Creek.

Got this big fella earlier in the year on an unweighted worm flicked up stream on 1kg gear. Gave a good account of himself in the small Creek. He was released straight after the pic.

Pic of the Creek he came out of.

    Nice fish mate.
Ive caught nice rainbows in smaller creeks. Sometime the tusik grass covers the whole creek and you could nearly walk into it without seeing. Catch them with same method. Unwieghted worm or grasshopper on small flick stick or flyrod.
Its amazing where you can catch good trout. Sometimes in 6 inches of water.
I would have found it hard to throw that fish of yours back. He would have had a date with a hot smoker.
    Tight lines!

Thanks mate. I did think about the smoker but given he was the biggest fish I have seen in that Creek I just had to let him go.

Well done MattC, that was a beauty! The creek looks familiar, up near Falls Creek area?

Awesome fish mate, good work. Good on you for letting it go too but I'm going to have to agree with the others, it would look mighty fine in the smoker.

What a lovely fish, wonder what he was doing up in that small creek.

Good on you for letting it go.

Considering I got him a week before the close of the season I would say he was heading upstream to spawn. Was the biggest consideration to letting him go again.
