Can put 16" rims on if you want.
Either scout the wreckers for pajero 16's or go and buy some 16" steelies.

yes . so 1 inch larger in diameter will still be fine. most of the time it all boils down to what tire proflie are you fitting to a particular rim size. in this case of the freebie 16 inch tires, as long as the profile is suitable compared to what your running on your car now ; 15 x what tire profile ? say a 15 x 75 profile will end up about the same total diameter as say a 16 x 70 profile.
there is a tire / rim calculator chart available which tells the correct story as to what i am on about. [ google - 1010 tires.com ]

16" will be metric tyre size. So an example of what dolphin is refereing to is 265/75r15 is around the same as 265/70r16.

Metric is width/ratio/rim and r is for radial belt ply. Ratio is the profile and is the percenrage the wall height is of the width.
I work out like so: width divided by 100=xxx, xxx times the ratio which now gives you wall height, wall height times by 2 to get the total wall height, divide by 25.4 to convert to inches, add the end result to the rim diameter and you have the total tyre diameter.
