The alarm was activated on my NT Pajero when i bought it pre-owned. It appears the previous owner / dealer would have set it.

I have a 2008 GCC spec NS and as you can see from the image I have the LED in the dash but I can't seem to get the alarm to enable. There are a few threads o. This forum about enabling the alarm but I can't get the beep to tell me it's in adjustment mode while pulling the wiper stalk toward me. The vehicle is Left-hand drive. Has anyone confirmed that the GCC spec'd Pajeros have the alarm?
Here are the procedures I've tried.
Procedure 1
- unlock with the key
- pull the key from the door
- open the door (and leave it open)
- pull the wiper stalk toward me and hold it (I've held it up to 30 seconds but nothing)
Procedure 2
- Get in car
- close all doors
- keys in ignition
- switch keys to on position
- open drivers door
- switch keys back to lock position
- remove keys from ignition
- pull the wiper stalk back towards you
- hold it for 10 to 15 seconds
Neither gets me a beep.
