    Just found this...

Yes the same dealer told me that dealers used to take photos of their cars with business signage in the background but carsales cracked down on it.

Fair price for a selling my Challenger

For my Paj a “pay per listing” (rather than pay per enquire) would have been a flat $150 plus the same one off establishment fee of $515 so I guess dealers have to make the call on which type works best for their dealership.

So maybe if you wanna start negotiations on a good note tell em you found them on carsales but googled their number first to save them fees LOL. They may (YMMV) appreciate your thoughtfulness.

It's been a serious money spinner for Carsales.

Honestly, I don't know how dealerships make ends meet.
there are many packages to choose from for dealers and dealerships - new/ used

        example

but wait there's more - car sales is very fair with their listings … to suit ever seller …

Geeze those prices are absolutely eye watering... it seems that smaller used car dealers will either pay per enquiry (plus a monthly fee) or $190 per vehicle every 28 days.

Fair to whom? Carsales have been accused of abusing their market position. Ultimately this money has to come out of the buyers pocket.

Just sold my wife's car. Success with Gumtree (which was free) and zero inquiries via Carsales which I paid for. Just sayin'.

Sold the Challenger earlier today for $17,500... Not too bad considering $18,000 was my 'get-out' price.

I bought it for $18,650 about 18 months ago so didn't loose to much on sale amount but it did cost me a few grand in serving etc.

Geez you cant complain about that. $1150 for 18 months use is very good. You cant really factor in service costs as thats just a given.

                    Anyway well done.

Nah, not complaining.. Just gutted to have to sell it.. Family comes first though and having the extra coin in the bank is more important at the moment.. Hope the new owner gets to use it more for its intended purpose than I did..
