Diesel Np 2004 oil pan sump - 2nd, new or after market

My 2004 np diesel's sump has rust and pouring out oil.
Mechanic can't find a second. Also can't weld it due to the type of damage. Tried to order a new one through mitsui and it is going to take over 2 months from Japan.
Anyone have any ideas...could we seal it with auto putty temporarily?
Are there any after market sumps that fit?

    Thanks.
    Dfer.

Surely you could remove the sump and weld a plate over the damage, at least as a temporary repair?

As for leads you’ll have to find someone with a dead engine that’s willing to sell parts individually.

How does a sumo rust so bad in Australia?? I’ve heard of this happening in the US where they salt roads - but usually by this time the rest of the body is cactus too.

    Cheers

Try Partsouq.com or Amayama.com bud. Many including many buy parts through them and delivery from Partsouq normally 7 days to Tasmania. You search on Partsouq using your VIN number.

Yes previous owner use to drive it through river crossings frequently plus a fair bit of fraser island beach work. I suspect the rust proofer missed the sump as the rest is ok. Exhaust also gone but it had a good innings.
Yes the weld was the initial fix but for some reason they aren't keen to weld.
Thanks anyways...might have to wait it out for a genuine from Japan.

You could give Mal at Mitsfix a call in Melbourne. 03 9761 6270 was the number last time I called the. They are mainly Magna wreckers, but they also do Pajeros. You may be lucky and get a sump from a wreck. Wouldn't cost much to freight it to Brisbane.

              This or any epoxy steel.

Prep is the key as always, thoroughly de-grease first, even warm the metal prior to applying the epoxy.

              It is amazing stuff.

                Thanks for the comments.

We went with a steel putty until the new sump arrives.
We'll see how long she holds.
