Gas Bonnet Struts for NT/NW ??

I've done some pretty comprehensive searches and cannot seem to find anything on the forum about people having replaced the stupid/archaic support rod with some useful gas-assisted bonnet struts. Anyone out there done it? Recommendations before I start testing out random struts from supercheap?

Hi Underdog. A couple of threads on people doing it in NM/NP models. Shouldn't be too different.

A great tip I got ages ago on here is to use google to search for threads not the forum search. In case you don't know this is how to search via google for keywords on a specific site:
    gas strut bonnet site:www2.pajeroclub.com.au/forum

    Cheers,

I would, that old rod set up is a pain in the arse and cheap and nasty. Was just looking under the bonnet on the weekend and checking what length and strength struts we had lying around at work.

Thats my thoughts, not that it means my opinion is "right".

When did they start using aluminium bonnets?

Aluminium bonnets from NS to NX models, so all Gen 4.

Just change my old bonnet stay to gas struts and easy job to do, perfect result and works heaps better.

Looks mint, do you have a PN# or link to the kit?
