I just rang them up, and quoted my VIN to them. They told me mine is not affected by the recall.

Each dealer has a computer link to MMAL and all the info is there. Once a VIN is entered, a list of outstanding recalls can be checked.

          Recall on the NP

Received my recall notice on our Aug 05 purchased NP in the mail today.

As we have moved house since purchase we notified MMAL of the change of address and clearly there are benefits for doing so.

Will be due for a service (285,000Km) in about 3 weeks, so will book it in for work then.

My VIN appears to be within the range identified even though it is an October 04 build not the stated 05-06?
We'll here's the official word from MMAL.

Even though my vehicle is outside of the stated build dates I have received the Recall Notice by mail today. Not bad from them considering I'm the second owner.

Yes, but only if it really matters to them.

There will be legislation issues here that they must comply by, but I am pleasantly surprised that I've received the communications so soon after the recall notice was advised.

Very good service from booking to job complete.
Was told it will take about half an hour and was handed back the keys 20 mins later.

Im not part of the recall, but my VIN says otherwise

My January 04 Pajero falls into this VIN range, however the person i spoke to on the phone told me there were no outstanding recalls on my car.
Interestingly enough my car had this fault appear a few weeks ago, on a weekend trip away from my tools. So for the weekend I had to hold the indicator stalk halfway between off and up or down in order to get the given indicator to work.

Before i heard about this recall i cleaned the switch internals and re-soldered a few suspicious solder joints myself. Works perfectly now and would have been quicker than taking it to a stealer anyway.
