    removing fan belts

Hi, I am about to change My fan belts. Could I have some advice please?

I have read that you can take off the larger belts over the fan without removing it. Can you do the same with the air-conditioning belt?

Is the job too hard without removing the fan?

    Thank you

Hi Paul, I don't know about other models but I just did a set of belts in the middle of the Simpson Desert in my NT (Thank god for spares) took 10 mins all up to do all of them and fan stayed in place. It is made a lot easier by removing the clip out section in the top of the fan shroud though. Hope this helps. Andrew

Thank you Andrew. It's amazing how isolation raises the stress levels even at home it may seem as a relatively basic job. Accidentally breaking something or snap a bolt..........

Yep you can change all belts without removing the fan......they will all slip off around the fan blades. But removing the fan blade which is only 4 bolts/nuts does give you a bit more room.

As AndrewRe says take off the plastic clip in cowl around the top if the radiator shroud gives you more room.
