    Error 2009 some advice please

Hi could I please have some advice? I have done a manifold clean on my NS SWB. The baffles were stuck and not moving. Post clean they had full movement and I could hear suction in the valve. Now all back together, cleared codes but sadly Still got Code No. P2009: Swirl Control Solenoid Valve Circuit Low Input.

Does this mean I now have an electrical fault?

First check your plugs are all clean and secure. Then check your battery voltage if it is to low you may get errors relating to low input voltage

I googled " Swirl Control Solenoid Valve Circuit Low Input." and found a reference to an earlier post I made 2 years ago. I sill don;t know what code 2009 is but one of the Russian references to 2009 code said something about short circuit to earth, so maybe you should look at the wiring to the swirl control valve, looking for either short circuits to earth, or even just a lousy connection somewhere. Other than that, I cannot help.

Is the code a current code or pending? Pending codes like the low input will disapear once the car starts and you have sufficient voltage.

After cleaning my manifold I had all of the codes in the picture which cleared with a recharged battery and engine start.Screenshot_20200503-182441_Torque.jpg

Hey Seigried, I cleaned the plug to the swirl control solenoid (I think it is that....it sits next To the air intake hose) and I see battery is at Up to 13.9 Volts but does drop below that as it measures. Down into the 12s Then up again. I am having no trouble starting the car but the battery is 4 years old.

Should I get solenoid tested or is it likely the battery do you think?

Also if it helps after I clear code the engine light only comes back on about 10 to 15 min of driving later

              Cheers
              Paul

If your battery is ok and the error keeps coming back you may have a sensor issue.
Just make sure your multimeter battery is ok to. Some multimeters give incorrect reading when the battery warning light is on. (My sc auto one is guilty of doing that!)

                    Part number

Thanks guys for all your input.

I have narrowed it down to a faulty Solenoid. I have researched Partsouq and it quotes MR404682.

But I have seen what looks like the same part for sale under part number MR404682 or 8657A164 (sometimes both).

Is that the same part with different numbers?

                    Thanks
                    Paul

If on Partsouq.com when searching using your VIN it has both part numbers listed then it is the same item. Sometimes it is because of an updated part being released.

                        thanks

Thanks everyone for your input, I have now installed the replacement solenoid and engine light is gone.

                        cheers
