    V6 Petrol Missing when hot

    Hi,
3000 V6 engine, when hot intermittently runs as though missing on one cylinder and engine check light comes on.
Have replaced plugs and leads, compression seems ok, temperature all good,...

    Any clues please ?

Have you done any work on the engine lately? If so, you may have left a vacuum hose off. This would make the fuel air mixture run leaner and this can cause misfiring if the spark plug gaps are too wide or the leads have too much resistance.

Another thought in addition is the ecu temp sender could be stuffed

        Stu:
If the temperature sender was stuffed, it would presumably be a high resistance and the ECU would think that the engine was cold. The mixtures would be rich , and this could be a fault but unlikely.
