Default NM Pajero water in air box

HI all,

I am new to this thread and could not find any answers to the issue I am having with my Pajero.

I had a safari snorkel installed by ARB and noticed last week that it is leaking water from one of its joints (joint where snorkel makes a 90 degree turn from right fender into engine bay). Taking this to ARB this weekend to have a look. Hopefully they will be able to fix this.

Has anyone experienced any water leakage from the snorkels?

I also noticed that water is also leaking into air box when I hold a garden hose on top of the air box (while making sure water is not getting over onto snorkel joints). So in this case the leaking must be from the side of the air box????

Has anyone water proofed their air boxes?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

A small amount of aero start little whif around joint should tell you where A leak is, engine revs will increase.
A large amount of aerostart & you risk breaking rings & engine failure

ARb suggest their snorkels are positively sealed & offer protection during river crossings, so I suggest this is ARBS problem if it is the snorkel not sealed.

Thanks Jason. Took it to ARB and they fixed the leak from the snorkel joint. However it is still leaking from the edges of the air box lid. I understand there is a rubber seal on the air filter on to which the air box lid press down on and should seal itself. But this doesnt seem to be working properly.

I am thinking of cutting out a rubber seal and glue it along the edge of the air box lid. See if that works. Other than that cant think of any other options.

What brand of air filter have you got in? I used Ryco once and noticed the rubber seal is thinner than the OEM filter seal. So the air box lid didn't clamp down tight on the rubber and seal. Could also hear the airbox lid vibrate at idle. Lots of info on here about it.
