going to be putting in a pair of component speakers in the doors, due to the previous owners attempt to put in some speakers shocking at that, i've had to cut the honey comb bit out and will be doing a bit of custom work to it then wrapping the whole thing in vinyl matching the doors

Interested to see what you do with it, still haven't decided what I'm gonna do with mine yet, was thinking of using some edge moulding But hard to decide as there's not many examples out there97' NK 3ltr GLX LWB Manual | 3" lift | Wildcat headers | K&N air filter | 2.8 crawl gears | 4Terrain clutch | 2.25" exhaust | Factory locker rear | TJM 10,000lb winch | TJM snorkel
97' NL GLS LWB Auto | 6G75 3.8ltr | Redback Headers

VT commodore rear parcel shelf grill should be big enough to cover that hole if you want to hide the speakers and its slightly curved to fit.... which is what i was planning to do, until i saw the shitty job the previous owner did and completely messed up the door plastics..
the front doors dont have much space for deep speakers so id suggest some spacer or flat speakers (not a fan of flat woofers) but the front doors are fairly good for bass which was strangely surprising..
ended up doing this instead...

interested to see what you come up with as I'm in the midst of doing the same thing to my doors. Just had a good thinking session while I stared at them for the past 20minutes trying to decide on how I will be doing them.
Going to try and keep the same lines/shape as the pocket, but not 100% on how I'm doing it. Will be mdf/Fglass made, a little trickier because the bottom part of the trim isn't flat..

So I came up with a plan of action for how to do my doors and so far this is where I'm at, about 75% done. I cut the original pocket in half and built a frame over the original plastic where the speaker usually sits when installed from factory (mine had no door speakers from factory) I stretched fabric over it and glassed it all up, just need the finish bogging and sanding them to get them respectable looking..
