I don't know that I've ever tried to lock the car with any door other than driver's open, but I know that opening any door will cancel the auto-(re)lock.

I do know that any door blocks out the auto locking function. My wife is as slow as a wet week (I am safe 'cause she never comes near a computer!), and I usually have to wait for ages whilst she gets her rrse into gear. Occasionally I try to lock the car, thinking she has finished, but nothing happens...
I thought the auto lock only functioned if you unlocked the car and then didn't open any doors. But if you did open a door, it disabled so you couldn't do what happened in the above post. Have I got it wrong?
On my NW I often unlock the back door first to load my shopping, and then find the drivers door is still unlocked when I am ready to enter and drive off. So that auto locking "feature" doesn't operate on the NW if I just unlock and then open the back door - which is how it should be
