Queens Birthday 2008 with Mitsubishi and Knox Mitsubishi

Spent the 3 days over Queens Birthday Weekend with vehicles supplied by Mitsubishi Motors Australia and Knox Mitsubishi Victoria. We had 3 NS Pajeros and two ML Tritons over the weekend to put through their paces under the guidence of our club driver instructors. The vehicles were bog standard and although the terrain was not extreme there was sections that were wet and very slippery. All our club members were very impressed with what these vehicles were capable of straight out of the box. We had an auto diesel Triton and a manual deisel Triton and although suffering lack of ground clearance the Tritons actually performed very well and only suffering one flat tyre o/night (road tyres)
The Pajero's just shined, they performed brilliantly over the weekend and went wherever they were pointed. Where the Tritons had a few attempts at slippery hills the Pajero's did it first up. Of course the traction control and extra clearance helped here as well. But, brilliant vehicles the Triton and the Pajero and you would be surprised to see how far they go in standard form.
Thanks to Mitsubishi Motors Australia and Knox Mitsubishi for supplying the vehicles.....great stuff.
Hope the clean up bill is not too much
    A couple of photos!

      Great stuff Dave.
But.... that looks suspiciously like a Challenger in the first snap and you don't list one of them. I wonder who's vehicle that is....

Still a Mitsubishi Rusty . And made in the same factory as the Pajero.....so it's got to be worthy of being in the photo. Actually I think mine came out the dirtiest from the weekend. Ahhh what fun it was!

Did any of the vehicles have factory diff locks?
Interesting comments regarding the ability of the vehicles in stock form.

Manual deisel Triton had the difflock.
And yes like I said quite a few of our members with modded Pajero's were quite surprised how well they went. I loved the 25th Anniversary Paj. A very impressive machine!

The next two videos you will see the Tritons trying to get up a slippery hill. The first Triton with difflock in had about six attempts before getting up. The second Triton was probably four cracks at it before getting up.(no difflock).
The only reason was simply ground clearance and road tyres.

The second video was on top of the same hill but the Pajero just did it so much easier.
