Default Inspecting a 2013 MY14 PC challenger tomorrow.

Hi guys. Looking at a PC challenger auto tomorrow. I've tried to get myself up to speed with any issues and the biggest I can see are lack luster auto programming (limp mode)and some overheating engine failures.

The owner has a record of the vehicle having the overheating service schedule applied at 35k KMs service although it never overheated before or after. Car is still under warranty so I can only hope the engine is a good one as it should have overheated by now if it was a dud (odo now at 90k).

I probably wouldn't be able to pick up on the overheating during the test drive but is there anything else I need to look out for when checking these vehicles out? Any common issues to look out for? Cheers.

Pull the transmission dipstick to check the condition of the fluid? If it's more brown that red, factor in a full flush service - might help with negotiations?

Other than the transmission and overheating concerns you have already identified, I think the Challenger is a pretty solid vehicle. Arguably it's an evolution of the Gen 2 Pajero, which was a pretty well sorted design, with the benefits of another couple of decades of automotive development.
