Default Gen 4 Card slot replacement - done right

Hi all,
there's not much we don't like about our Pajs but the one thing that pops up as an annoyance pretty often is that stupid card slot in the dash.

I've seen plenty of DIY options for switch panels and the like but a pajero facebook member and youtube viewer got in touch to shoot me out something he 3d prints and sells himself.

After several emails back and forth he sent me out the unit which I have only just got around to installing.

My unit has 4 pass throughs for my radio mics, a winch switch, 2 usb charging ports and 2 usb 3 pass extensions for my android head unit.

As you can see from the pic and as you would expect it's a straight swap as far as fitment goes.

You do have to pull a good portion of the dash to get to it though.

Depending on what options you choose, you would obviously need to connect up your switches etc where ever they needed to go as part of the process.

Overall though, I'm happy with the fit and how much tidier my dash is now and to actually have something in that space that is so useful.

If you're interested , contact info and cost etc are discussed in the video.

cheers Brett

I have no issues with the original holder. Holds my mobile phone perfectly. Cannot see the point in installing something that looks a bloody mess with cables hanging out. Even without any cables it looks like an after thought. Simple to install usb holders on the floor side wing mounts and use these with bugger all cable showing. I run my 10 inch tablet, TPMS and rear view camera with no cables coming from the dash. Looks a lot neater than the alternative.

Doesn't have to be cables, unless you want them

The standard one offerred just has positions for up to 7 switches, either factory look or Carlington, or TPS monitor, or blanks if you don't want 7 switches.

If you are utilising multiple switches would be a lot neater than various switches scattered throughout the dash.

I'm the same as you. I don't min the original holder. I have fuel cars, and my phone fits nicely in the spare area. I like that it's a panel that can be removed and configured for other uses, and it can be changed out as there's plenty of room behind it from what I understand to hold other things.

The only issue I have with it (and this is from reading - not first hand) - is that it isn't a DIN size hole (ever so slightly smaller from what I have read). I think Mitsubishi have missed the opportunity here and it should have been a standard sized DIN hole (and if possible, easier to remove) - dedicated for a 3rd party accessory with the standard panel as a 'fill in' for anyone who doesn't want to change it up.

Apart from this I love the panel - because it has been designed to be removable - unlike so many other car's I've been in where everything appears molded in.

I believe Mitsubishi do make a pocket that fits there. Its as part of a trailer brake install thread on here ............somewhere

Still its a bit of a job to take it out.

Found it!!

This shows how the Mitsubishi pocket is fitted. If I have attached it properly

Electronic Break Controller Harnes.pdf

Personally if I pulled the dash out to do this, I would get a panel that suited exactly what I need not just a pocket
