    Southside of Brisbane?

    All,

Just wondering on thoughts for options of a day trip on the south side of Brisbane.

Any one have any ideas on where to go?

    - O'Reilly's
    - Black Duck creek
    - Queen Mary Falls

Does anyone know what the road/track conditions are like down that way at the moment?

    Cheers
    Damien

....VERY WET... I'd be waiting another few weeks till it dries out a little.

Duck Creek Road will just about be impassable and probably closed. We had another 40 mm last night - there would have been more in the hills.

We did Undullah Road on the weekend for our kid's ( 1.5 & 3.5 ) first 'off road' drive.

Nothing technical, could be done in a standard car when dry, but still made for a fun day trip close to home.

Next trip with the kids on board might be Undullah Rd then Duck Creek as a longer day trip.

That Ripley track brings back memories, I remember flogging my mk1 escort through it 22 years ago as a rally track. Thought it would be bitumen by now.

Am wondering the same thing at the moment, thinking of maybe the Queen Mary Falls and Condamine River Road trip. I know we've had a bit of rain lately so does anyone know if the river crossings on Condamine River are passable? (Standard diesel wagon, no lift, no snork)

Hi there, if it hasn't rained at Killarney for two days the Condamine 14 River crossings should be fine. If when you get on the dirt road and find road closed signs just proceed to first river crossing and check depth. Would not be first time the signs were left up too long (probably not considered as important being it is a road less used and there is the alternate route). Beauty with this gorge road is you can use the alternative bitumen road to Queen Mary falls, Killarney area for the day and then venture down the gorge road from the top end to do the 14 river crossings xpecting the depth will have dropped further during the course of the day. Just my thoughts. Enjoy.
