    Melbourne/Vic mechanics - Guest 4WD, Can Do 4x4 ?

Has anyone had any experience with Can Do 4x4? Looking for somewhere to fit suspension, a bit of electrical work and manifold clean. Guest 4WD seem reliable but are high end expensive and to be honest seem more suited to Toyota.

Guest did the suspension on my Shorty some time ago; ive only had this one dealing with them- routine service on it gets done elsewhere.
Was happy with their service and price. I’d go back (but have no need to).

Guest might be more Toyota/Nissan visible, but they are definitely no strangers to the Paj range.

Guests did my aux battery 5 years ago and it's still going strong. They also fixed the crap job I had done locally by a guy who fitted my snorkel. I'm in the east so I have someone more local for my servicing but I cannot recommend them highly enough. I was sent there by a guy in our club who doesn't go anywhere else and he drive a fair way to get to them.

I have never used them, or even know where in Melbourne they are.

However I have seen their adds around for a long time. Maybe 20 years?

I expect if they were no good they would not be still in business.

Would love to support them and no doubt they will do a top notch job, but at $750 for suspension fitting plus wheel alignment starting at $150 maybe more if it's problematic, that's a pretty hefty inner city tax.

If their hourly labour rate is $150 per hour then this is 5 hours, if you are not using pre-assembled struts, so they have the disassembly the struts, cleanup and reuse the top mounts, etc, etc then this job would take about 4-4.5 hours. Since you have a 2009 NT chances are their maybe seized wheel alignment adjusters so are they allowing a bit of extra time for this?

Do you have any fitted accessories that would make the changing of the suspension harder?
Rear Aux fuel tank, 2nd battery, snorkel?

Personally if I have to pay someone to do the job I would prefer they did the job correctly and no take short cuts because they under quoted.

                OJ.
