Back to the Africa blogs, We hammer to Port Elizabeth getting ready for the pajero club meet up.

We have a rough night as we had a bit of water coming in through the ports, odd, but we deal with it. Its normal for a boat anyways. We are guided on how breakfast works, which wasn’t exactly all inclusive, as we actually have to pick a place to eat and there is a […]

Big day out with the South African Pajero Club!!!

These couple of days worth of blog are a bit hazy, as there was some booze consumed. We will jump straight into it though. We wake up and I clean a few items out of the wagon, mainly the blue boxes as everything else is bolted down as today is the day I meet the […]

And thats a wrap for now. I got a few little bits from the Democratic Republic of Congo to put up but thats a job for tomorrow.

The last day of our big trip, we motor back to Joburg over 2 days, I find I may have also done my steering rack in, which from the abuse makes sense. Its leaking like mad so to slow the leak and save the pump I add diff oil, steering is obviously a bit heavier […]

A stunning trip. Well done. I would never be brave enough to try what you have achieved. I bet there are many more flashes which will come to you in coming years about this trip. Again, well done.

Cheers, Its been a wild trip, I am trying to sort out shipping to Turkey currently so we shall see how that goes for the continuing adventure. I have 3 weeks worth of blogs where I did another remote trip with my canadian mate i need to put up still.
May even put up the big ol dodge from canada too. see how I feel.

It pretty safe there to be honest. I havent felt unsafe besides common sense in joburg. otherwise all good to go. I bush camp all over.

Back to blogging mods until the next chapter begins. A basic run down of my simple electric setup.

Where to begin, you have such a range in todays day and age to pick from, from a simple to isolator, to a super complex system that monitors every aspect and runs coffee machines. For the sake of simplicity, I will stick with just describing my mid-range setup. It’s a digital isolator, basically, it allows […]

With some of the places they have been I think there maybe an AK47 somewhere amongst his load.

Thanks, Now what about the work prado though? lol.
I would say the confidence came with time, basically my first foray into Africa was straight into Lubumbashi, DRC. as the plane was starting to land I noticed the farmers fields against the edge of the landing strip, the old planes, even war planes with grass 4 meters high surrounding them, run down buildings and boy, let me tell you flying in alone was nerve wracking, i was sweating for sure. instantly the locals can tell its your first time and come to take my passport which i would not let go of for my life, he eventually ripped it out, they tried to bride, and after a very stressful 10 minutes our protocol guy arrived and all was good. so for a first time at that level, now everything else seems somewhat easy. remember, Big smiles and play the game. lol

More trouble than its worth, lol. I have a knife, that's its. and its more for comfort sleeping. either way, most people are friendly and mostly just curious. we are careful how we do go about camping though. IE: we dont just rough it through south africa, we always stay at legit camp sites. where as in botswana and Namibia you can camp anywhere safely. its a wild difference.
