They told me about this when I called to book my service yesterday. It's meant to be about an hour of work should be getting it done on Friday.

So when I asked with my service today they said they do a continuity test and apply some dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.

        This sounds like my problem.
I've been complaining for 3 years about fog lamps turning off for no reason whilst tootling along AND when using the blinkers.

Called our local dealer today to find out if my NT was on the list.
yep it was so booked it in next week. Should take 45mins or so they reckon.
Will find out what needed doing once it's all done.

Paj went in today for the recall.
Spot on 45 mins from the time I dropped it off to the time I was hoping back in, total time in the workshop was about 20 mins I rekon.
From speaking with the service advisor and having a very quick look at the paperwork, it seams they pull things apart, add a grease stick to the indicator mech (something like a chapstick) and put it all back together.
Not sure what it's going to achieve in real terms but if it prevents something going wrong then I'm cool with it.

              Hi,

Having ours done next week, although have had no problems with any lights whatsoever.

Is it just the light/blinker stalk in the car they pull apart?

Do they do anything to the actual light assembly or where the bulb fit in?

              Cheers,
              Sally

                Hi Sally
They just do the blinker switch assembly. Mine was done a few days ago. On the docket it says:
Recall 010111- Turn Signal and Lighting Switch
                Terminal Connectivity Rectification
"Excessive Dust Accumulation can act as an insulator etc etc "
They used a grease painting kit. Probably just looks like a chapstick for dry lips but would cost about 25 times as much.
NW CoolSilver with things bolted on it. Some better than others

                  Hi Kerway,

Thanks for that. The lady said they needed the car for about 1 hour, so must be a bit fiddly.

Yes, agree it would cost 25 times as much for the "chapstick!"

Oh well, pretty easy then and at least it is free!

                  Thanks for the info.

                  Cheers,
                  Sally
