I always use Fleetguard LF3830 oil filters which I change every 6 to 8 thousand kilometers. I've now clocked up 362K without any problems. I get them from the local Isuzu dealer at a cost of about $13.50 each. The filter has a drain plug on the bottom which allows you to drain the filter prior to removing it from the engine thereby preventing getting oil every where.
