NT NW NX Diesel fuel pumps

    Hi all,
I have an auto NP DiD that I would like to update to a newer model. Considering the NP diesel pump has a limited life after 250k and if not not rebuilt before the bearing goes it becomes a costly repair, I was wondering if the later model CRD Pajero have a different pump with a better lifespan?
I've done nearly 300k of trouble free motoring in the NP but it limits my choices for an upgrade if the same pump exists in the later models as they are all getting on in age and klms. I was looking at upgrade vehicles with between 150k-200ks on the clock.
    Thanks

Totally different pump and system. We only buy quality fuel, run two fuel filters and 2 stroke mix at 200/1.

Have over 300,000K on our NS.

      Hi Muppo
Depends on the quality of fuel u have been using ie. have fuel filters been regularly changed as per schedule .
I'm now upto 455k km and running as good as new . Nothing wrong with the pump !!!!
      Cheers

The fuel injection system in the common rail fuel injected Pajero engines (NS onwards) don't seem to have had any issues. I say this as there is pretty much never a thread on here about a fuel injection problem affecting a common rail engine Pajero - and some of the NS and NT's must be getting up there in kilometres now. I recall some early on predictions of issues with these common rail systems based on the very high pressure they operate at, but in practice they seem very reliable indeed. I understand the very high pressure also keeps injectors cleaner - can't build up dirt/contamination so much at the pressure they run.
