I am sure that Toyota didn't really want to use a DPF, but it is Euro 5 emissions control. If they didn't use a DPF, they would probably be using Ad-Blue into the exhaust and that would be a pain in the ass - if you could get it in the outback. If it was anything like the new trucks, they go into limp home mode until you refill with Ad-blue.

Wouldn't surprise me if the next paj has a dpf again, in fact I'll be more surprised if it doesn't.

Ad_blue is predominately Urea based. You could just pee in it. lol

1 meter of 3" stainless steel pipe and a couple of flanges will fix that

Just know the crap I went through with my NS and the dpf and the way technology with vehicles is going it is only going to get harder to remove this sort of stuff. I would be interested to know how much actual difference a dpf makes. I remember reading somewhere that they only test the diesels with the vehicle set up in a certain way eg rpm, full throttle. Can't remember exactly though, so most of the time they do nothing I presume???

Couldn't believe how similar they both are. Maybe the designers drink at the same bar/coffee shop?!

Backward design step on the Landy IMO. But still a beast!

Looks like the bonnet has had a Roo strike.

I see Toyota are still going with the sagged front spring look.
