    Buying Advice - 2002 Challenger

    Fellas,

I'm going to look at Challenger tomorrow with a mate. He's very mechanically minded, and knows what he's looking for, but any Challenger specific things to keep an eye out for?

    2002 model
    Petrol
    Auto
    XS series
    157,000kms

    Thanks in advance

They are prone to having leaking rocker cover gaskets which contaminates the alternator and eventually kills it.

The other common issue is with the flashing 4wd light. Which means some part of the 4wd easy select system isn't working. You can put new solenoids in or do a manual conversion of it for less than $200- but its a good bargaining point.

Otherwise just the usual stuff I'd say - fluids / service history etc /make sure all the switches work etc.

    Cheers

Oil leak from the rear camshaft seals is pretty common, easy fix though, one o-ring (each side)
