    4m40t Injectors

    Hello all,
Does anyone know how to check these injectors for wear, damage, problems, etc?
Unsure when and if they have been replaced or serviced in the past and the vehicle as almost 250k on the clock.
    Cheers,
    Tom.

You really need special equipment for testing injectors.
Best to talk to a workshop that specialises in fuel injection repairs.
They will be able to test opening pressures, check spray patterns and check for leakage.
How much life is left in them could be hard to know, but they should know by part numbers and other markings how old they are.
They could replace the nozzles and set them up to be new again.
    Scooby, Scott, Scooter, Whatever.

          Them 6G74 injectors won’t fit 4M40.

You can just buy tips for them cheap on Chinese sites but I believe they have to be calibrated.
I bought complete set of genuine Bosh ones through Ebay a few years back from an outfit called Blue Lagoon somewhere in Britain for $360nz delivered and at the time they were the cheapest genuine I found.
          Made no real noticeable difference

            4m40t injectors

I owned a 98 4m40t diesel Pajero for 16 years and up to 400,000 kms. and find that I had to have the injectors rebuilt about every 100,000 to 120,000 kms. You absolutely knew when it was time as the Paj would start blowing excess smoke and both power and fuel economy got worse. I usually ended up with exchange injectors for about $400 a set. Hope this helps. John
