    Transfer Case Washer

After changing the diff and trans case oil I now have a slight leak from the transfer case drain plug. I brought a new plastic washer for it. Has anyone used these white plastic washers and are they okay?
While at the shop I saw some red fiber washers (Champion brand) but they were imperial not metric. According to my research I need a 18mm washer.

Its a flat metal washer used , not plastic or those fiber washer bud, i dont trust either of those due to previous bad experiences with dripping.

MD000312 or MB001294 are the genuine part numbers.

Hi AussieinTas, yeah I had all the info but we only have Autopro where I am.
According to the MD000312 part No. it should be 18mm Internal Dia (or 18.2mm) x 24mm Overall x1.5mm thick.

Does anyone know if Autobarn/repco/SCA etc sell these washers or is this size only available from Mitsubishi? Having trouble finding them online or locally and my nearest dealership is about 80kms away.

Repco should - I’d phone and ask them!

Just for anyones interest, Repco don't stock the Mitsubishi part No. but they do stock Champion brand washers. The nearest to the Mitsubishi washers I can find are these, part no. C140-7 - 18 X 24 X 1.5 Aluminium Washers. I haven't tried these so cant say for sure if they are suitable.

This might sound like a dumb question but is it okay to drive the car with a slowly leaking transfer case until I fix the leak?

                Of course!
As long as you can put up with the mess and the leak is not too bad.

Cheers Keithyv, I just undid the filler nut and oil came out so I've lost hardly any oil. I did the drain nut up a bit tighter so hopefully that fixes my slow dripping. I'm cautious of over tightening and cross threading.
