    Axle seals

Well today some how driving to work or get the kids from the inlaws I have blown another axle seal.. Done both sides 18 months ago and today the drivers side has let go and has covered a third of the wheel.. Getting sick and tired of fixing the pajero..

Yer sure does.. It took me 6 hours on my own last time to pull both axles out and put new bearings and seals in and put back together.. Will fix it I hope over the week end some time on Sunday because its my only day off..

        axle seals

ngwagon, this time, once you have it fully stripped down, check the mateing faces, before you go to fit your seals, if they are marked in any way, your on a hiding to nothing, because of pressure ect and I have seen what you tend to do, in the pic's you have submitted, the other day, when you were articulating on that rock, anyhow best of luck with it and I hope the faces are not marked in any way.

              axle seals

Sorry ng, must have got you mixed up with someone else.

But I still say, really check your seals faces and take your time in the assembly, as you dont want the seals kinked, even ever so slightly, best of luck on the re assembley.

Yeah, thats the one, Im afraid you have to give these trucks a little bit of respect, after all, they weren't designed to have these double size rimms and tyres, let alone asking it to do what you bakerboy, is asking it and then you bitch, when she spits her oil all over your wheels and then you find you have to rebuild the axles, but there you go, you are fully aware of what your doing and you most proberly got to much money, so you want to throw it at MMC or some other supplyer. LOL.

My seals leak too and i'm only running 31's (got 33's and 35's in shed now) i think its just a factory fitted leak. And Scorpion 42 whats the point of having a 4wd if we cant abuse them off road? I read in a 4wd monthly article that these things are strong and over engineered and can take a lot of abuse.

I'm nit complaining just annoyed that the seal only lasted 18 months and has only been off road maybe 5 times since they went in.. Spoze I have to take in that there 20+ years old now.. They need a bit of love and I'm only tlrunning 31's too

that would be a bit easier. I'm looking for a gen2 disc brake diff to see if it'll fit. Going to trial fit the 35's this weekend see how much work it'll be to fit them.
