I went with a Pioneer Avic F80DAB. Fantastic unit, cant fault it, no regrets.
I haven't even had to change the speakers, and it sounds magic.
But it's pricey.2009 NT VRX, Rear Battery Pack, 18" Bridgestone D-697, SPVi EGR mod, BushSkinz Intercooler & Sump Plates. BOO's Transmission & Transfer Case Plates. GME 3550, HID HB's and 22"LED Bar, Pioneer Avic F80DAB Audio/Coms/Nav system MM4x4 TC Lockup Mate. & 1/2 tank of Diesel
Pretty Stock but very Capable

I'll be upgrading my NW stereo to most likely a Pioneer unit in the next month or 2.
I will try to document the process so others can use the information.
I've already got a heap of info gathered on all the required connections, steering wheel controls etc.
Anyway, just about ANY unit is an improvement over the stock rubbish.

I just added a Pioneer 4 channel amplifer in behind the unit, added the aux in cable, and replaced the speakers with Rockford Fosgate's Prime Series R1675X2 6-3/4". Dash still looks the same though.2006 Gen 4.1 LWB NS Pajero, manual.
