Yes well mine was surging quite a lot until I put it in for diagnistics. Don't know what the service dept did during diag but it stopped. I had booked it in for SCV replacement and cancelled the job, Since then no problem and ensuring I only use Caltex Vortex or BP Ultimate wherever possible. Prior to that I was less discerning on vendor or quality. Coincidence? Possibly but for a few c per litre seems worth it. BTW I have a genuine Mitsi SCV kit available if you want to buy it

Try to use Ultimate and minimise Vortex use. It snots up filters way faster than BP. My companys cars have Caltex cards and I see what happens with Caltex diesel. Never had snotting up issues with Shell, just a gut load of water once in 7 years with 40 odd vehicles.

I've been using vortex almost exclusively without issues in the old delica and the newer Ssangyong which is rather sensitive to fuel ( 2 micron filter system )
