    NT factory HID's

    Hi All,

I have found the factory HID's don't project very far forward, unlike standard globes where there is a little fade out with intensity the HID's just stop.
Has anyone else found this and is it easy to adjust them to project further forward as I feel it is quite dangerous as it is.

    Cheers,
    Scott

no chance cause the headlights(low beam) are set to 12 degrees.
at the start i didnt like them, but have become used to them and know what is lit by them
on the higher speed roads it can be a problem.
thats what the hi beam, fog lights and spotties are for.
especially during the winter up and down the hume hwy
    cheers john

Thanks John, so the HID's can't be changed from 12 deg? As you said it is more of a problem at high speed and you cant always drive with you lights on high beam.

Funny I thought fog lights were for fog or bad weather?

No, driving with your fog lights on for no reason increases your cars awesomeness by 10 and also increases your chances of attracting the apposite sex by 50 !

!!!! Maybe in Moreton Bay Regional Council area. Perhaps you should move to Brisbane, the boundary isn't that far from Eatons Hill.

But back to the headlights. Are you sure you are not confusing the extra HID awesomeness to the sides of the road as appearing to make the forward distance less? I have found that the HID's project at least as far as normal low beams but really fill in the sides. If I park beside a friend's FG XR6 and turn on the lights after him the HID's totally overcome the non-HID lights.

                A quick Question

The HID's seem to have a perspex cover infront of them, is this relative cheap to replace or are headlight protectors a better option?

                  HID's

                  jasper,
they are self levelling so they do not blind on comming traffic.
especially if the car is loaded up,possibly with the rear of the car lower than standard ride height.unlike the halogen style lights that distract other drivers when not adjusted correctly/or loaded up.
id be getting the covers so you dont need to find out the cost if something does break
