    Help me to identify these

    Hi All

I have recently purchased a Pajero NS 2008, It came with duel battery installation and there is a duel battery engage switch (see the PIC) with Redarc battery isolator, issue is i dont have a fridge in my NS yet so I just keep it switched off always, but keeping this switch off will not charge the second battery or is it ok to always keep the switch on.

Also there is a strange sensor on my front windscreen on driver side (see the attached pic) does anybody know what is this?

    Thanks

I'd say the "sensor" is a microphone for a hands free phone setup. Never seen a switch like that for a dual battery

Would the switch be the override one.

The Redarc has a override cable (at least mine does) that enables you to link the batteries when the starter battery is flat so you can jumpstart yourself without leads.

Yes it could be the overide switch, in which case leave it turned off. It's only used if you need to manually connect the aux battery for a jump start. 'Off' is the normal position for it.

Can you tell us what model Redarc you have? Or post a pic of it?
          Cheers, John.

            Thanks Guys

I will post a picture of the redarc in the evening, Not sure whether it is the override switch or just a switch to completely turn off the supply to Fridge (coz the previous owner mentioned you can just keep it off if you dont want that supply when i bought it), only visible indication is when you flick that switch the red light on the redarc goes on and goes off after sometime even the vehicle turned off.

The sensor on the screen could be a motion or break glass sensor for an alarm or Could be a mic for a hands free as it has what looks like windsock foam in it
