    First look: new Toyota HiLux

Australia's leading independent automotive news site. Comprehensive coverage of New Models, Recalls, Technology, Industry Research and Motor Shows.

All Toyota seem to have done is put the Klagger grille & headlights on the front of the lumpy looking thing they sell now.
IMHO it's just as ugly, now that it has same style of grill as the Corolla, Camry, etc.

It's just the those rims change them and it will look heaps better. They remind me of something I,ve seen in the past...VY acclaim or something?

I think the 1st comment says it all

QUOTE ["The latest HiLux is all new from the windscreen pillar forward" then "No changes are expected to engines and transmissions" err... pretty sure the engine is before the A pillar.........
No surprise, all appearances and no substance. Engines lacking in innovation and power figures by comparison.Transmissions up to date 1990s spec, and the cheek to charge like a wounded bull.
Sorry but there are much more tempting offers and innovations out there for comparable money!
        - and don't try to sell me on that 'unbreakable' rubbish, i have seen them break first hand! (numerous times)

I've owned 2 Hiluxs. Brokken both. Rear diff in the first. LN106 and a front and
rear diff in the second. KZN145. Also head gasket. But I must say both ran a min of 33's
          and were driven!!!

Gees the comments gave it a right old shellacking, fwoah! I nearly pewked when I saw the new Triton shape but I like it now. Maybe it will be the same with the Hi Lux?

I saw this news that talks about Toyota announces it's recall. The hybrid Toyota Lexus and Highlander RX400h SUV are both associated with a recall of more than 80,000 cars recently announced by Toyota. The hybrid utility cars have an issue in the drive product that can cause elements to burn out and shut the vehicle down. The recall is the latest setback for Toyota, which is just recovering from the earthquake and tsunami that devastated parts of Japan in March. The company earlier this month predicted annual profit will fall nearly a third due to recent production disruptions related to the disasters, though it expects a strong rebound in the coming months. I found this here: Toyota announces hybrid Highlander and Lexus SUVs recall

Reminds me of another company doing the same... Lancer, ASX, Outlander
