Yep, agree whole heartedly with your comments. He sure was a fighter.
They said, on Sunrise this morning, he'd had 20 ops on his skull to treat multiple cancer growths etc in/on his brain.
Poor bastard, what a way to go and he will be sorely missed, as you say.
Jim Stynes, co-founded the Reach Foundation for youth in 1994. What a legend!!
    Cheers, Tony.

A very sad day. Not only was he a legend of the Melbourne Footy Club, on and off the field, but he possibly had even more of an impact once his football career was finished. An totally selfless man who touched the lives of many many people. Even when very ill, he was still helping others. My thoughts are with his family and friends. Unfortunately the old adage rings true, only the good die young. RIP Jimmy Stynes.

I agree with all the sentiments here. Jim Stynes was a totally amazing person. Now we've lost him too. Condolences to his family and friends.

He will be sadly missed. A state funeral is a fitting recognition of his acheivements.

Couldn't agree with you all more...what a top bloke and how tragic for his family....

He saved the Demons, won a Brownlow (The first Irishman to do so) and played 244 consecutive games...what a great achievement!

RIP Jimmy - we'll miss ya. You put up such a brave fight and inspired many.
