Just wondering.
Does the NT have side airbags? If so, would it mean you are removing a safety feature?
Yep the NT had side airbags as does the NX i'm picking up however Recaro make side air bag aftermarket seats across a few models in their range. I was keen to keep the vehicle compliant with the seating. It's a shame others don't make them either as Recaro's are reasonably expensive but its a million times better than the stock seat and worth the money imo
Just ordered one of these bars on the weekend. It seems to sit lower, so can use existing headlight washers unlike the ARB bar. I was going to go with an ARB bar, but after following up with ARB re Sharkcavers mount failure their response was the failure was due to
1 incorrect tyre pressure
2 incorrect suspension set up
3 vehicle was above GVM (maybe they thought he loaded up his bullbar )
Mmmmm. I didn't think there tolerances would have been that tight.
Anyway.
The strange thing is TJM, claim to have two jacking points on their NX bullbar (see above link)????

Well, well ,well, more intelligence insulting BS to the fore from ARB, and some new ones there to me. And they wonder why I'm shitty about the whole process
1. How would they know what tyre pressure I was running?
2. Incorrect suspension, only because it wasnt OME (and OME shocks lasted a whole 100KM's (yes, I didnt leave out a zero on the end) of the top end of the CSR on Steve's Paj - the bit that wasn't even bad yet)
3. Yep, they made that claim to me too and I put the same question to them (how did this load up the bullbar) - without answer. I do wonder how they measured the GVM from a photo. (I actually weighbridged it, so I have some fact to deal in, rather than the inuendo - read excuse finding mission - they have put forth)
Well congrats on the new TJM bar. I would be highly appreciative if you could post pictures of how the front mounts on this new bar are designed. The pictures I used from a TJM type 13 on an NT, show how this design would handle cyclic loading a whole lot better than the offering from ARB.
Again, in ARB's defence, I have to mention that there has only been 3 reported cases of this failure in the past, so it is a low probability. Something to take note of.
I wont win any friends with this, but I made a small rant on my failure at the time I was trying to deal with corporate head office. I've kept it private till now, but some of their excuses have to be called for what they are - if you can get through all 12 minutes of my rant that is. This link could be shared far and wide, but that could be seen as just spite. I share it solely here for research purposes of Gen 4 owners. Knowledge is power.
interesting video Shane. Thanks for that.
ARB should have supported the bullbar at the two chassis rail where the tow points are. Don't see why they can't run a plate down to there.
They showed a complete lack of desire to get to the bottom of the issue and fobbed off with absolutely transparent executes.
I know they were acting as the messenger, but even for the local representative to roll that out as a fair response, made me think how I would feel if I I was on the receiving end of such illogical crap.

And they showed me a complete lack of desire to get to the bottom of it too. At the end of the day, for them it comes down to a business risk decision. The Pajero is on its last legs, the cost of re-engineering and re-compliance for very small turnover is an expense they may not get back, it isn't a common problem and obviously just isn't worth it in the long run for them to resolve. Fair enough, I guess. But from my perspective, it has created brand name harm to future sales. Being such a large corporate, they could well afford to loose my limited sales potential.
MY16 NX GLX5 with just a few bits added. MY14 D-max spacecab, also with a few bits added.
Very Nice..... ! I like how the TJM offering follows the profile of the front end & also the bigger tubing around the headlights.... suits it really well
Have an NX GLS with ARB bar and dual battery set up and the suspension is starting to soften up in the front after 15,000k so will get Lovells springs and Bilsteins all round (50mm lift) before 20,000.
