    hidden winch mount

    hey guys,

    thought id start a new post about hidden winch mounts, it stems from my other post about winch bars for my exceed.

    I found this company that makes them, I have emailed them for a quote. Ill let you know how I get on

        I've also been considering fitting the hidden winch mount and I've contacted ASFIR to discuss a price. Not sure I'll do it right now though, as finances are a bit tight presently. I currently have a wire rope puller style hand winch in the boot in case of need and I'm about to spend on a ground anchor.

        ASFIR stuff is pretty good. It's not cheap, maybe even a bit too expensive. But it was one of the few options I could source in the UK for bash plates and so I have fitted their engine/intercooler and transmission plates. Very well designed plates and all around top quality, thus I expect their hidden winch mount would also be of very good design and quality.
        2007 Shogun 3.2DID. UK Diamond Spec. Harrop Eaton front E-locker. MCC Bullbar. Runva 11XP winch. 17" Dotz rims with 32" STT Pro. Koni HT RAID 90 series with +2" EHD Lovells springs. ASFIR protection plates for engine & transmission. DIY steel rocksliders. LRA 81 litre auxiliary fuel tank. Waeco CFX-40. Home made drawers & fridge slide. Dual power - 120a/h AGM with CTEK DC-DC. LED lighting. 43 litre water tank with two electric pumps - one for tap (via filter) & one via heat exchanger.

          Thanks kiwi. What did they quote you for the winch cradle? I haven't heard back from them yet.....

              Yes you are correct, but their website only lists underbody protection

                After seeing the other thread on this I was dead set on getting one.......that was until I spoke to Pedders.
                Quote I got was for $1200 for the mount and it was going to be at least a month wait :disappointed[1]
                It is one of the neatest fits I've seen.
                I have heard that wolf 4x4 supposably sell another brand but they haven't responded to me yet

                    Wolf 4x4 sell AFN or AVN i think it's called and is still $995. They've always responded quickly to me on facebook so give that a shot if they don't reply to email?

                      I was quoted USD543, which works out to about AU$700. Although Pedders price presumably includes freight and any import charges, still it looks very steep.

                        Just as an update on this as I'm currently looking at winch options, the prices on these seem to have dropped and it can be delivered locally.

                        from their intl site

                        $US 440 and delivery to Aus $U105

                        so approx. A$720

                              Have you seen this one. I have one but have not had time to look at fitting it. The side mounts may foul on the factory bullbar mounts. Might be a while before I have time to remove the factory bar and check it out. 220 euro and if you order via email they might drop the wight to 9kg to save shipping
