    Pesky cardholder space... Now Useful!!!

Hi all, just thought I'd share a concept with everyone here that's interested, and perhaps solicit some more ideas. I played around with the cardholder slot thing and since I've been in "switch-mode", designed a panel that retains the flap, and makes room for 6 Mitsubishi style switches. I'd like to come up with some more designs, like maybe a slot for bits and pieces and 2 switches, or 4 switches and an EGT Gauge, or ...???
Anyway, here is a pic of the concept. Currently printing the final product, which will be available for sale once I'm satisfied with the design.

That is awesome. Little battery voltage gauges would fit nicely in there.

A good idea. Would replace the two right hand switches I guess. Could have one to monitor each battery, like I have fitted in the heated seat switch space on my pic pack NS...
      image.jpg

I shall play with that. Do you have specific gauges in mind?

No probably that same size you have there. Even USB port from radio would be nice. If i drew a rough sketch of what i need would you be able to do it?

          Yep :-)

EDIT: in fact, I can source a Mitsubishi switch sized dual USB unit, that has one charge port and one audio port. That would be ideal for you, I think.

Based on Rodsfromday's suggestion, here is another possible design. Revised design allows for any of the switch slots to be configured to take the USB unit or switch.
Also room for 2 volt gauges, sacrificing only one switch position. Next I'll figure out making one with a shelf, which is what I want for my car. I think I'll go with a shelf on the left and two switches on the right. Or maybe a coin drawer..... Stay tuned. Any other suggestions/requests?

Like you I would still like a shelf with 2 switches.
                  I'll be watching closely 😳

Compartment is larger than the opening in a downward direction, so you can put coins etc in and not have them fall out on hard acceleration....

Thanks Saffer, I'm really pleased with the result. Printed the first "production unit" just now, and fully assembled it with the original flap, rubbers, and latch. Fits perfectly and works great!

Ready for full scale production. So far I have 2 versions available (switches not included, and you re-use your own flap, grommets, springs and latch)
                        1: 6 switch plate $35 +p&p
                        2: 2 switch and compartment $45 +p&p

2 more designs ready, waiting on custom filament to create the windows for the voltmeter displays. These will include the voltmeters, pre-installed, but not switches.re-use your own grommets, flap, latch and springs.
                        3: 5 switch and 2 voltmeter. $55 +p&p
                        4: 1 switch, 2 voltmeter, and compartment. $65 +p&p
Happy to do custom designs for members as well, as I know there are a lot of different ideas people have about what that card holder space should be used for

Great work. I will be up for one with the following - 1 switch 2 gauges compartment and usb. But I will measure the size of the usb recess I would need. What is the largest diameter hole you can get in that entire top to bottom space please?
