    Rear springs

Hello people. I have a .2013 NW Pajero and I have just had “Airbags” put in the rear springs. The original springs were retained and the airbags added. My question is, ‘ Is there an up side for the springs or are they able to be installed in either position. Meaning does it matter which way is up. Thanking you for your reply. Rareone.

From my experience with the NP,there is an upside and downside.Correct fitment will see them properly seated in rubber spring seats.Incorrect fitment results in premature wearing out of the spring seats.

Have just fitted King springs to my NW.
Yes there is a right way up and there is also a right and left.
Not sure why the right/left, but the springs are progressive rate, so the more they are compressed the more they try to resist under heavier load.
So the coils should be closer together at the bottom.
Have installed these because I tow a caravan.

        Hi!

You mean the place where the wires are closest is at the bottom?

I put mine on top ...: dunno [1]:
        These are EHD.

In fact I put the inscriptions on the springs in the direction of reading.
Do you have a picture of your springs?

          Whoops! Sorry my blue.
You're absolutely right, the tighter wound coils are at the top and the makers marks should be able to be read, in the correct position.
I was lazy and just looked at the old springs which I still have and they must have been fitted upside down when the air bags were installed.
Been in there over 4 years!
There is an opinion that it doesn't really matter which way, but I checked with Kings, and they confirmed.
