Had to fly to Devonport Tassie last week for work so left the Saturday before to have a bit of a look around before a week of work.
So get to Melbourne and the fog is as thick as. Flight to Devonport was delayed then cancelled and redirected to Launceston and the airline to supply a bus to get us to Devonport.
Within 5 minutes of that announcement I had a call from Avis wanting to know if I would like to pick the hire car up at Launceston airport instead of Devonport at no extra expense.
Happily accepted the offer made all the better because when we got to Launceston ,after 5 hours in Melbourne airport, the airline staff in Launceston didn't know anything about a bus they were supposed to provide to get people to Devonport.
Talking to another fellow who had a car hired with another company and he was in the process of trying to organise the same with his company. Not sure how he got on but said he would try Avis next time he needed a hire car.
