Tomorrow morning at 10am there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony and bbq breakfast at the bottom of the Kirrama Range Road west of Kennedy, far north Q. Jump on Facebook and search for Kirrama Range Road and you'll discover that this road has been closed for 8 years following cyclone damage.
The local public group has worked extremely hard to obtain state and federal funding to have the road rebuilt and tomorrow it will open to the public, hopefully never again to close. If you're in North Queensland, it will be worth attending to show support to those who have worked so hard to re-open the road. There will be a convoy up the new road following the opening. In the evening there will be a sausage sizzle in Cardwell followed by an open air screening of "The Irishman" which was filmed in the area.
Blencoe Falls is reached from the coast by this road and this amazing spot will again be accessible without having to drive for most of a day to come in from the west. Tomorrow will be a great day, why not come and join us?
