    Cheap alloy roof racks experience?

    Anyone bought these or identical?

The seller has 100% positive reviews and he only sells these racks.

Don’t look quite as aerodynamic as more well known brands but maybe that’s academic.

Been thinking about roof rails as well. This one listed is really cheap but have seen cheaper ($69.90 https://www.amazon.com.au/Giantz-Gra...ve&sr=1-12like). I guess it boils down to how heavy your load is and how it is distributed across the rails.

Thanks for the link mate. To be honest all I want them for at this stage is to mount an awning for a road trip this Sep/Oct.

I,ve had them for nearly 4 years. Have an el cheapo rack as well. Have a 160watt solar panel in the rack and a 3 x 2.5 mt awning. No cracks, vibrations or breakages. I used 4 of the racks on my vehicle ....just for peace of mind.. I also sprayed lanolin on internal bits to stop rust.

This is great first hand experience to know. Cheers. I’d prob get away with just 2 for an awning do you reckon.

You've gotta work harder than that to remove something from the internet.

Dreamerman's original post has been restored.

Just thinking....without stock rails my Pajero is already 1.9m in height. Having racks on top of rails will add another say 8cm. Just concerned about parking at places with height limitations.

No I have just ordered them but I know of people that have without any dramas so will be fine for me. Only probably for stepladders or the occasional bit of timber from Bunnings etc.

If using an awning I,d go for three.I used 3 for mine and its quite solid. I tried 2 but there was a bit too much movement for my liking. Mines a 2.5 meter awning.
