Default Life expectancy

I have a NW with 96,000 K and thinking of updating. It is used to tow a 2,500 kg van . We are 70 yo and wondering if this rig will see us out. If we keep her we will have to do a suspension upgrade. Any one have thoughts on the life expectancy of these Pajeros??. The only other rig iwould consider buying is a 200 series Land cruiser. I would appreciate any advice on the expected life . Thanks. Rod

Hey Rod,

I have an older 2008 NS Pajero. It has a less powerful engine, weaker gearbox, and everything else the same.

Just had its 300 000km service and it’s going strong. For the first 200 000km it was out in the bush pulling a horse float around and for the last 100 000km it’s been running up and down the beach, towing a camper trailer, out bush camping, running the boat over to the beach and driving to work and back 600km a week.

With a bit of servicing and maintenance these will last a long time.

NS Pajero, with stuff.

Yep, 96k is just run in. No reason at all if its serviced regulary and looked after that they can't do 500k + without being touched.

Agree with all the above but probably worth getting transmission oil changed more regularly than the schedule. Every 30,000km? And remember that the “Toyota Tax” means that you will be paying a lot more for an equivalent, or getting one much older than the Paj.

2008 NS DiD Exceed. MM factory alloy full bar, Autosafe cargo barrier, Roley's rear bash plate, Uniden 8080 UHF, Baintech powertop aux battery in cargo area (removable), Jaycar battery isolator, fire ext mounted in place of rear door handle, Redarc EBC, BushSkinz IC & sump. ARB Frontier replacement fuel tank, Pedders track rider suspension. Lockup Mate.
