You won't retrieve any transmission related codes with a regular scanner. Lockup is controlled by a solenoid and it seems as if that is not powering up. If you're going through all 5 gears then, as others have said, overdrive is working and doesn't sound like a serious fault. But I think you may need to visit an auto trans specialist - and hopefully something easy for them to trace. Wiring for the auto trans (in my NS anyway) is beneath the panel at the front passenger foot area. If you haven't been in that area then seems unlikely you've done anything to cause the fault.

Please do update with eventual solution.

Hey guys. Well put it on a scan tool today and showed my tacho has somehow become wildly inaccurate.

Car at idle tacho shows 1100rpm.
Scan tool sais 700rpm.

At around the 80k mark tacho is showing 2800rpm.
Scan tool is showing 2000~2100rpm.

Up around the 100kph scan tool shows 2200rpm.

However I still can not feel the torque converter lockup.
Tiptronic mode just goes thrugh the 5 gears and rpms do not drop to indicate TCL. At any stage!

Auto mode you feel it shift thrugh the 5 gears and that is all. TCL should feel like half an extra gear and drop the rpms slightly. This is not happning under any driving condition. 120kph TPS at around 15% still no lockup.

Peter, what size tyres are on it? Factory stock is 265/70/16.

Ok, that rules that one out. I think it's time to get it plugged into a proper MUTIII and look to see if it's trying to engage the TC lockup.
