    Boo's Bash Plates

    Hi all,

I've got bushkins intercooler and sump protection plates and just after a cheaper alternative for the transmission protection guard. I've came across Boo's bash plates who specialises in underbody protection for Pajero's, Triton's, Challenger's etc... They said their plates are made from 3mm mild steel which seems pretty strong to me as many have installed them - obviously not as good as bushskinz. For a transmission guard, it's $105 delivered to my door. Have any of you guys have the Boo's plates? what is your experiences like with them?

    Cheers,
    Anthony

I have boos bashplates intercooler and sump guards, seem fine to me and fitted perfectly.
re the 3mm vs the 4mm of bushskinz, arb bash plates are all 3mm.

I've got an intercooler guard ordered which should be delivered today. $80 delivered to your door is hard to beat.

I thought their service and communication was terrific too.

Boo Boo is also a member of this forum - http://www2.pajeroclub.com.au/forum/member.php?u=26636

I have one of his transmission guards and have not had any issues - easy to fit and no major deformations despite several decent wacks

Does this extend far enough back to cover the transfer box too? I've removed my ironman plate temporarily as it has rusted at the points it touched the gearbox cross member and was making awful noises as the frame flexed. I need to repaint it but this may be a better solution without going all out on bushskinz.

I will add though I had the full ironman suite and the 3mm ironman intercooler and sump plates got destroyed where as the bushskinz intercooler and tjm sump (also 3mm) have faired much better. I think the design and where the folds are may have a bit to do with it.

                Hey Grhyso
My guard only extends past the rear cross member buy about 50mm so does not cover the transfer case.

For the purpose of clarification, in my case at least, I purchased my bash plates from Boo Boo through eBay. I've had no communication with Boo Boo on this forum at all. Had no idea he was a member on here until this thread.

Not sure whether this is the case with others

Actually, I was similar - purchased via eBay and only found out Boo Boo was a Forum Member until well after the purchase.

I received my set of three bash plates from Boo boo on Monday. Fitted them on Monday night in about 20 mins. Perfect fit and clear instructions. Will be perfect for what I want. I put lock tight on all the bolts ... just cause I thought it was a good idea? Am I right? I had read about people stripping the threads in the brackets under the car without much force so I didn't want to over tighten them and so thought lock tight would keep them tight.
                            Cheers, Hatto
