Mitsubishi ASTC with Off Road Mode and Hill-Descent Control

Mitsubishi’s all new Pajero Sport model features ASTC (Active Stability & Traction Control) with Off Road Mode and Hill Descent Control. This technology allows the driver to optimise the vehicle’s parameters to suit the task at hand, maximising stability, safety and off-road performance. Off Road Mode is easily selected by pressing the off road mode button located just above the 4WD mode selection dial.

    Gravel Mode

Gravel roads are an operating condition that Australian motorists encounter all too often, and the Pajero Sport’s Gravel Mode is configured to allow the perfect amount of wheel slip required to maintain maximum levels of mid-corner stability on gravel.

    Mud/Snow Mode

Momentum is the name of the game in slippery conditions, and Mud/Snow Mode maintains momentum when the going gets greasy by limiting the involvement of Active Traction Control. It also regulates wheel spin by moderating throttle input.

    Sand Mode

When the surface starts to get really loose (like on sand or really fine dirt), you need to again really keep momentum in the car to avoid getting stuck. Sand mode will the keep RPM high to maximise torque and program the 8-speed transmission to shift quicker. It’ll also make the wheels turn gently using the Traction Control system to give the right amount of wheel spin as you go across grounds of varying softness. At high speeds, the Active Stability Control and Active Traction Control will also help keep momentum.

    Rock Mode

With the wheels having a large amount of articulation allowing the vehicle to go across extremely bumpy tracks, rock mode will keep the tyres gripping using the Traction Control even when one is not in contact with the ground. The 8-speed automatic transmission will also hold lower gears to ensure steep gradients are easily overcome.

    Hill Descent Control

This feature is a first for a Mitsubishi model. Hill Descent Control will maintain a constant speed by controlling brake pressure according to the conditions of the ground. It’ll work going down a steep gradient at speeds between 2km/h and 20km/h.
