    Imposter?

I feel like an imposter not owning a Pajero - sorry!
But the reason I am here is that we are very interested in upgrading from our late model XTrail (sorry if it's rude to say the X word haha). We also have a Jayco Swift that we are just setting up with 12v so we can get away from the crowds without dragging it into crazy off road places.
So I am keen to seek out a range of information advice and opinions - thanks in advance - and sorry in advance for any dumb questions.
    Cheers
    Darryl

      Welcome to the forum Imposter?

Im not far from you (Windermere Park)

Ive wired up a new camper trailer from scratch and rewired an old Windsor caravan now, so i feel i have more than basic knowledge in this area.

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

I'll do my best to help in any way when i can

      Cheers Glenn

I joined up 14 months before I bought my NW. Always better to ask the questions beforehand and get what you want rather than buying first and regretting later.

He has an X-Trail, Dicko. Pretty sure they're still made by Nissan.

But he is headed in the right direction, as you say.

Yes it's a Nissan Dicko. You don't want to hear it but it's a very well built thing, but obviously quite different to a Pajero. Anyway thanks everyone, stay tuned.

No longer an imposter. Picked our new NX GLS on monday. Our first real 4WD. Plan is to have this for a long time, travel as much as work allows for next 4 to 5 years then travel a lot more. Like they say, "Adventure before dementia".

Thanks, but no, the Exy was a nice car and we will remember it, just not suited to what we want to do and the Paj will cover that easily based on the great info I have been able to gather from this site. Cheers.

                            Congratulations on your purchase!

You will be amazed at what your car can do when driven with a bit of care & skill, even in stock trim.

You have probably read about all sorts of mods for your car and no doubt will have some in mind. IMO, there are 2 initially and then its up to you what you need after that, noting it is easy to get a bit carried away:
                            1. Driver's knowledge, experience & skill (reading, training, club runs, etc can be worthwhile, as we never know it all - keep learning)
                            2. The right tyres for the intended travel

                            Enjoy the journey!
