MMCS wont function on the move

The price of TVK-38 is 8,800JPY + shipping fee 1,500JPY(Japan post-EMS, 3-5days)
TVK-38 should fit to your 2012 Australian Pajero and enable you use TV&DVD whilst the car is in motion.

Please note TVK-38 is made exclusively for 2011-2012 Pajero to control TV&DVD, not Navigation unit.@*$#@*$#
You will see, but not be able to operate Navigation on drive only.

I bet they must have got excited over the influx of enquiries....lol

So what we need is a NVK part number available not the TVK. Still $130 I think is good value, I will finally be able to change music etc, that has been my biggest gripe with it.

And this is just plug and play not as complicated as Ozhummers unit.
I just want to change tracks etc. on IPOD.
Controling navigation would be nice.

This unit probably kills the signal from the gps sensor so the MMCS thinks it is not moving. This might mean you can set a new destination then switch it back on again and the GPS signal would refresh after some time?
Anyone got any other ideas?

Now I just got this email back from them in regards to NVK:

Dear Daryn,

Good day! @*$#@*$#NVK is needless for 2007-2012 Pajero.
Yesterday after replied your mail, I got many customers' mail asking NVK product that will enable navi operation while driving.
One of customer also canceled because I replied him that we do not have NVK for Pajero.

After hard checked, I found that TVK-38 comes with this function itself - to enable the operation of Navi map in motion.
It means you can watch TV&DVD and do operation of Naviation by using one product only.
Please see herewith attached picture for reference.
Hope this information will be helpful for your consideration.

Well I don't care about navigation in motion. For one, I like my garmin much better, and two, mmcs nav is rubbish.

But I do want to know how things go with the ipod in motion. Its worth 130 just to do that.

Will the first to get one please let us all know how it handles the ipod.

I also have an interest in this thread. Have just purchased a 2012 platinum after trading my 120 series prado and was surprised just how dismal the mmcs actually is. I was expecting a bit more from it to be honest, but the maps and the intuition is not real great IMHO.

So, I would like to use my trusty tomtom for navigation, but utilize the screen in the dash for use with a rear view camera that I would fit on to my caravan. At present I am gathering that with the vehicle in motion that the screen wont operate, so this solution might just help my needs too.

Daryl, I wonder when you fit the lead, could you take a bunch of photos do that incompetents like me could follow your method , if the mod actually works...likewise, wonder if you could perhaps test to see if the video screen would work when the vehicle is mobil as a part of your on road test following installation????
