Wouldn't mind betting that it's a 3.x?L V6 Diesel lurking under that Evolutionish bonnet!

Yep I reckon something like that too. That bonnet bulge to me means a smaller motor being worked harder (e.g. top mount intercoooler).

I don't see any manufs putting bigger diesels in their 4WDs: they are getting smaller. This drive comes from emissions and fuel consumption requirements.

So probably a smaller diesel (probably not the 2.5 from the Triton/Challenger but you never know) ... also probably a new gearbox although the NT one is pretty good ... though only 5 speeds.

I guess this is the last update before the all-new one in 2014.

No not loving it, but as you can understand it is not my job to release the info on the vehicle. That's Mitsubishi job on the 17th.

Could have a poll to see what forumites think is under that bulging bonnet;

a) 2.5TD

b) 2.8TD

c) 3.0 V6 TD

d) 3.2 V6 TD

e) 4.2 V8 petrol

f) 25 hamsters & an electric motor hybrid

Any other suggestions?

Steve

With its own thread designation of "generation 4-3 Pajero" there must be some sort of significant difference hopefully.
If it was just an update it probably would have gone in with the NS/NT's. At least that's my theory and I'm sticking to it at least until Mitsubishi (or Dave) spills the beans.
Regards Andrew.

I'd put my money being on the only significant difference being the engine and probably an extra cog in the transmission.

If I was a betting man I would go with the 3.0L or 3.2L V6.

Cheers,
Kieron

Front and rear of the car look the same(other than the bonnet bulge) so maybe it is just an update with a new motor to test before the new model is released...

I dont care what motor they put out as long as it DOESN'T have a timing chain top guide fitted.

Dave, I'm glad the trip went well. From all accounts it was a good few days.

At least you can't talk about one car. I can't talk about any.
