Default Full Auto Service Cost Comparison

Looking to see what other members have paid for a auto transmission service for their NW Pajero's? Auto has never been serviced and car is a 3.2 Diesel with 127,000 km's on the clock.

Inquired today with a local transmission specialist for a full flush, filter and oil change and was quoted approx $750-$850 dependent on oil flushing quantity. Just a bit unsure on their price given what other users have posted in previous posts regarding a similar topic.

Thanks

Default auto service costs

Wholesale automatics in Bayswater were offering a full service including full flush and synthetic oils for in the $600s from memory.
regards.

I last had my auto transmission done in September 2018 (at 130,000 km) by Rowell & Searle (a specialist transmission workshop) in Adelaide. The service was for the transmission, transfer case and diffs, along with before and after road tests, drive-line inspection etc etc. Total cost was $530 which included 6 litres of ATF, 2.8 L of "gear oil" (I assume transfer case oil) and 2.8 L of diff oil, a new filter and pan gasket. It also included 1.75 hours of labour ($250, so about $140 per hour, which is probably not at the cheap end of the scale).

Given they used 6 L of ATF, I suspect it was a drain and fill, rather than a full flush, but I get a AT service every 40,000 km, so not too worried.

Speak with a Toyota dealer/service place as the 100s auto (the 5 speed one) is the same. That's what I did and I got it cheaper than any other place locally.

About 4 months ago I paid $460 by a specialist at Blackwood (Adelaide) including a full flush.

Didn't notice one bit of difference after service, but they reckon old fluid was shot.
Tow a 1200kg camper. Mainly did it in auto & don't have any gauges to check transmission temp, but reckon it was good insurance to get fluid changed after 5 years no matter what.
