    Pajero Gen1: Your Build!

    Hi,

Write in here what your build is! (ie, Tourer, pig, off-road ect)

    Model: NF Superwagon
    Year: 1988
    Engine: 3.0L V6 EFI 6G72 Manual

    Mods:
    Bullbar
    Rear Spots
    Custom CD Player mount
    Front arm-rest/fridge
    Inverter
    GME UHF
    Dual Battery (Redarc)
    Max Trax
    TJM Compressor

    My Build:
Tourer/Small time off road. Can get to all of the good camp spots without needing to climb up cliffs. Kills on sand and often pulls out Cruisers and Patrols stuck in sand (Mainly due to driver error however the look on the face is priceless!) 4wd has been in family since 1992. Engine rebuild 300,000kms. I have added accessories as needed however the car is starting to show its age as more parts are starting to deteriorate. The car holds sentimental value and I hope I can keep her in tip top shape (consider it an early restoration).

    Recent expenses: (Last 2 months)
    Radiator
Mickey Thompson tyres (set of 5)
    Fuel pump
    Belts
    Thermostat
    Brake lines
    Bump stops
    Windscreen washer lines
    Distributer

    Future costs:
    Ball joints
    Tie Rods
    Transfer case seal
    Sump seal
    Rocker cover seal
    Pannel Work

    Future toys:
    Bonnet deflector
    Roof Basket
    Truck mirrors
    RAM Laptop mount
    Dif Breathers

Pics: (when I can work out how!)

Bit of a late bump. Started doing things to my NG lately so may as well.

Here it is the weekend I bought it. 1990 NG V6 manual, 240k or so k's and a shiny paintjob and immaculate engine bay. I've had it for a few months now without too much changing. But I've recently started doing things to it.

                    ordered:
                    Snorkel
Work Crag 15x7 ?0 (on their way from Japan)
PIAA white 5" lights w/ black covers
antenna relocation too bullbar and shiny D shackle oooooh!
                    2" Fulcrum suspension lift

                    soon:
                    roof cage
                    HID kit, low k
Perhaps bigger tires & body lift
                    roof spotlight for camping

In the end I want a capable camper that I can use for work (I've just started as an apprentice plumber) and have some fun with. It's in respectable nick at the moment so I'd like to keep it that way, but eh, it's made to have fun with, so why not? I'd love to get a larger exhaust of some kind eventually too, as it seems to be quite slow.. but we'll see..

Here it is in the car yard the day I first saw it.

And at a friends' house up near Yarra Junction

Daily driver for work/Camping and fishing rig. Had it for 8 months now and LOVE having a car that I can fix myself. Original owner's service log book -spent it's entire life in Canberra, hail damage from new [wonder if they got a discount]. 1st trip away with the family we went on some serious rutted out trails, boggy detours around fallen pine trees and unused blackberry covered fire trails. Then I tried to get to an old camping spot and ended up with the chassis rail sitting on a tree stump [front left wheel in the air, you can see the damage under passenger door in the photo]. To no avail, she pulled straight out of the mess I got her in. Serious carb issues led to the Weber transplant, but now she roars like a lion. Pic below shows the marriage of Ford and Mitsubishi air cleaners and the tyres. Hoping to get more off road time soon, now that brand new rubber adorns her stylish standard rims.
