    Torque Pro Fuel Consumption

I recently started looking at litres per 100 kms long term average on my Torque Pro. Mine is currently at 7.0 which can't be right. My centre console reading is between 9-10 as I drive mostly in the city. What do you think?

The in car meter is based on the last 4 hours of driving only. I believe torque depends on the settings chosen. Torque also needs reasonably acurate data like engine size and typical weight.

I could be wrong but dont you need to enter how much fuel you put in every fill up or adjust fuel level inTorque pro vehicle profile for the fuel consumption to work properly?

Yeah I was using it and it is a PITA resetting it every time you fill up. The fuel gauge is adequate for me now. I use that slot on Page 1 for intake temps now and don't miss the distance til empty at all.

I’ve found the factory gauge to be surprisingly accurate, usually within 1L/100km.

For over 65,000klms I religiously tracked my mileage. Now I find that I couldnt care less as it means bugger all. Traffic , wind, hills towing and other variables all mean that fuel consumption varies every time you fill up. Threw my mileage book out and now just relax more and dont give a stuff how much I use.

Center gauge and fuel gauge are fairly accurate, or at least close enough for me. Only time they aren't so good apparently is when you install the ARB replacement tank.
I still do quick km-v-litres calculations when I fill up to get an idea of how everything is going tho

+2. Having bought my NX new, the cost of ownership in the first couple of years is roughly $20k and $15k respectively. Marginal fuel use is inconsequential and I don't understand why people fret so much about it.

My DPF NX 2017 Pajero is around 1.5~1.7lt/100 klm worse than my previous NT, same roads, same use, same driver.

At 18,000klm/year that's around an extra 270 litres a year or about $400.

                        Do I fret? No

Does it piss me off = Yes, especially when the window sticker said it would roughly the same

So just as a $400 rego increase would piss me off so does Pajero NX DPF crap ecconomy!

For those who may not know & i'm sure most do, an APP on phone called fuel maps Australia.

Will even tell you prices, distance to the next servo acces map from screen to servo & navigate, great to judge the next fuel stop & given after 2 fill ups logged, when you leave & first stop depending on load you have within reason then you know your range to choose next servo.

Log your trip, average your useage 100% accurate k's per 100, cost per kilometre

Even the average between each fill, trailer on/off during A trip etc can see difference it made

Average distance you've done between fills.

All you have to do is click buy fuel & put in mileage & how many litres self populates price at bowser or you can adjust if so happens its wrong

                            & it's free

The NT (and NW) have a partial torque converter lockup mode which improves fuel economy. It kicks in under light acceleration in 4th gear (~40-50kph), and 5th gear (60-80kph).
You'll see the RPM drop from 1500 to about 1250.

They removed this feature in the NX.

So, if you drive like a grandpa the NT/NW is actually more fuel efficient than the NX (even pre-DFF). Why do they advertise the same fuel economy? . Maybe the AS test conditions don't cause the partial lockup mode to activate - or they're lying...never
